Meet Our Team
Dr. Ned Restom
Dr Ned Restom is the Founder and Principal Dentist at Smile On Clinics, and the co-founder of the Australasian Implant Academy (AIA). He has a particular passion for complex implant dentistry and is a pioneer and leader in the field. Ned is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology (ABOI), a title held by only three Australians.
Ned holds a Bachelor of Science (2000) and a Bachelor of Dentistry (2004), both obtained through the University of Sydney. He has completed multiple Master programs in implantology and has performed hundreds of full arch reconstructive procedures.
Dr Ned Restom has built state-of-the-art dental clinics across the Central Coast and in Thornton, Maitland and the Newcastle region. Across these practices, Dr Ned works tirelessly to provide his patients with the highest standard of clinical treatments, safety, and patient experience.
Outside of dentistry, Ned is an aerobatic pilot and an aviation fanatic. He is a very active member of the Central Coast Aero Club, and is sponsor of the Paul Bennet Air show.
Dr. Neville Bo
(UK)
Dr Neville Bo graduated from the University of Liverpool (UK) in 2003 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He then joined the Royal Air Force as a dental officer for six years.
After leaving the military, he worked in general practice for four years, carrying out a mixture of private and NHS dentistry. He moved to Australia in 2013 and settled in the Newcastle area with his wife, and they now have two beautiful daughters.
He carries out all aspects of general dentistry and particularly enjoys aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry. As a Member of Digital Smile Design, Dr Bo uses the latest technology to customise cosmetic dental and orthodontic cases.
Dr Bo is now also offering fixed orthodontic (braces) treatment to help straighten patients’ teeth and improve their smiles.
Occasionally, he helps out at the John Hunter Hospital with forensic dental work.
Dr. James Tran
James graduated from the University of Sydney for both his degrees and worked in Cairns for a number of years before moving back to NSW to be with family. James has a great interest in all areas of dentistry with a commitment to the highest standard of care and gentleness.
James cares for all his patients from not only a dental but a holistic point of view. In considering any dental treatment he considers your overall health and what is the best way to fit your needs to your lifestyle. He truly believes a healthy mouth is an important part of your overall health, not just in how you take care of it, but also in what you eat and drink. At the consult, James will do a thorough examination and explain any treatment options and costs. There is no pressure to do any treatment immediately.
Dr. Daniel O’Connor
Dr Daniel O’Connor graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the United Kingdom with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2016. He worked in general practice in private practice and with the NHS before coming to Australia in 2022 and settling on the Central Coast.
Daniel is passionate about providing patients with a comfortable dental experience and helping them become more confident in their smiles. He enjoys focusing on prevention and education with his patients, but his interests are in cosmetic dentistry. You can often find Daniel in researching during downtime, learning the newest techniques to stay at the forefront of his field. Danny ensures his patients feel welcome and comfortable during their visits and leave empowered when it comes to their oral health.
On weekends, Daniel enjoys keeping fit at the gym and seeing all the sights Australia has to offer.
Dr. Josephine Bourne
Dr Josephine Bourne graduated from the University of Sydney with a Doctor of Dental Medicine. Josephine started her journey as a dental assistant where she discovered her love for dentistry and decided to pursue it as a career. After graduating, she worked in the Hunter Valley before returning to her roots in Lake Macquarie and joining us at Lakeside Dental, Swansea. Josie is passionate about providing quality dental care with a gentle hand to her local community.
Josie ensures she treats her patients as individuals and that each treatment plan is bespoke to their specific needs and tailored to their overall health. By keeping up to date with the latest information and technology, Josephine provides her patients with a high level of care and treatment. Her interests lie in oral surgery and implantology, but enjoys all areas of dentistry, including family dental, preventative treatment, restorative work, and root therapy.
In her spare time, you might find Josie out at the beach on her surfboard or exploring local restaurants with her friends and family.
Cherady Russell
Cherady Russell graduated from the University of Newcastle with her Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy in 2018. She founded her love for dental as an assistant, now she is dual qualified as a Dental Therapist and a Dental Hygienist. As an OHT, she can provide oral health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management and preventive treatments for children and adults. Cher offers periodontal cleaning, restorative treatment, implant maintenance, assisting with orthodontic procedures and more.
Cherady is passionate about ensuring her patients of all ages understand the importance of excellent oral health. She believes in total patient satisfaction and that education is the key to preventing oral disease, supporting her patients through gum disease diagnosis, management strategies, and gentle treatment. Cher enjoys treating children and ensuring exciting dental experiences (she boasts a black belt in Balloon Twisting). Cher has participated in the Newcastle University backed Senior Smiles Program to help deliver oral hygiene to people in residential aged care facilities.
On the weekends, Cher loves spending time with friends, road trips, shopping and hanging out with her puppy dog Jay.
Georgia Littler
Oral Health Therapist
Georgia Littler graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2018. As an Oral Health Therapist (OHT), she is dual qualified as a dental therapist and dental hygienist. As an OHT, she can provide oral health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management and preventive treatments for children and adults.
Georgia completed continuing professional development through the University of Sydney in 2019 which allowed her to extend her scope of practice allowing her to place fillings for people of all ages. Additionally, she can provide comprehensive treatment of problems and tooth pain in children as well as the assessment and treatment of gum disease through thorough diagnosis and gentle cleaning.
Georgia is passionate about preventative dental treatment and believes that the prevention of oral disease can be achieved through patient education, empowerment, and oral health tips. She believes that building patient rapport is key in providing successful dental treatment and building patient confidence.
